New! FSSC-1:2011

Introducing the FAST Standard for Software Compliance 2011

Originally launched in 2004 and updated and refreshed in 2007 and 2011 to keep pace with changes in technology, the FAST Standard for Software Compliance - FSSC-1:2011 (the FAST Standard) provides a structured framework for initiating, implementing and maintaining software compliance.

The 2011 FAST Compliance Programme brings an update to all the guidance documents and templates, including the introduction of a new focus on relationship management and new technologies (such as Virtualisation and SaaS). We are also working towards aligning the FAST standard with the ISO-19770 which is currently under review and due to be re-launched later this year.

2011 also sees the launch of new and improved interactive tools to help you complete the programme and monitor your progress.

The FAST Standard and the FAST Compliance Programme

The FSSC-1:2011 and the supporting FAST Compliance Programme give you the "What", "Why" and "How" to achieve software licence compliance.

What?
The FSSC-1 document outlines the requirements of the standard. Organisations will need to demonstrate that they have met all of this requirements in order to achieve registration to the FAST Standard for Software Compliance.

e.g. “The Organisation shall establish documented policies and procedures for software auditing.”

Why? – new for 2011!
An objective has been added to each requirement in the standard to give the “why” as well as the “what”.

e.g. “To ensure a routine and consistent approach to auditing to enable reconciliation and demonstrate compliance”.

How?
The FSSC-2 document provides the supporting documentation containing background information and guidance on what organisations should be considering to ensure that they fully meet the requirements of the standard. Additional specific guidance documentation and templates are available from the customer area on the FAST website.

The programme provides all the tools, support and expert knowledge you need to achieve accreditation to the FAST Standard, including;
